Special Needs Aquatic Program (SNAPkids)

As a physical therapist specializing in aquatics and pediatrics, Dori was recognized as a Pediatric Clinical Specialist by the American Physical Therapy Association in 1996. In 1991 she founded and continues to direct the Special Needs Aquatic Program (SNAPkids.org) which provides aquatics services to children in a community based setting. In recognition of her work in aquatics, Dori was honored with the 2015 Jefferson Award for service, the 2004 John K. Williams Jr. Adapted Aquatics Award from the International Swimming Hall of Fame, and 2001 Professional of the Year Award from the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute.

Dori believes in empowering children as active participants in their learning and in helping to train the next generation of providers. In addition to running the nonprofit, snapkids.org, she owned and directed Pediatric Contracting Services, providing PT,OT,ST services to children in Bay Area schools, clinics, and homes. Dori has presented numerous professional courses in the U.S. and abroad on the topic of pediatric aquatic therapy and adapted aquatics.
